Support We Offer

Keeping everyday choices in the person’s hands

Turn practical errands into independence, choice and participation.

Shopping is not only about filling the fridge. It is part of choosing what to eat, keeping routines, making decisions and running your own household.

For someone who finds a full shopping trip tiring, difficult or less comfortable than it used to be, a little support can help them remain involved instead of having everything decided for them.

Support may include

Making a shopping list together
Accompanying the person to the shops
Helping carry and organise shopping
Putting groceries away
Collecting parcels
Visiting the post office
Collecting prescriptions where appropriately arranged
Other ordinary agreed local errands

With you, not automatically for you

Wherever possible, we want the person to keep choosing. That may mean walking around the shop together, deciding what they would like to buy and keeping familiar routines, rather than us simply arriving with a bag of things chosen on their behalf.

When family members live further away

Practical errands are often the tasks that quietly fall to sons, daughters and relatives. Helping with some of those agreed jobs can reduce the pressure and leave more space for family time to feel like family time again.
