Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about everyday support
Plain-English answers on scope, family reassurance and how the process works.

What does Graceful Living currently provide?
We currently provide non-regulated companionship and everyday support, including meaningful visits, agreed light practical help, shopping and local errands, community outings, appointment companionship, everyday organisation, hobbies and routines, digital confidence and appropriate family reassurance.
Do you provide personal care?
No. We do not currently provide regulated hands-on personal care such as washing, bathing, toileting, dressing or undressing, oral care or other hands-on personal care activities.
Is companionship only for people who are lonely?
No. Companionship can be helpful for many reasons: having someone to talk to, getting out more, keeping up interests, attending activities, building a routine or simply having a familiar person to spend time with.
Can you help with shopping?
Yes, shopping and ordinary agreed errands can form part of our support. Wherever possible, we keep the person involved in the choices — for example making the list together or going around the shop together.
Can you attend appointments with someone?
Where appropriate, we can provide practical companionship around appointments, including preparation, travel, company while waiting, ordinary notes with permission and agreed organisation afterwards. We do not provide medical advice or clinical interpretation.
Can you update family members?
With the person’s permission and an agreed communication plan, we can provide appropriate everyday updates. The aim is reassurance without taking away privacy, independence or the person’s right to make their own decisions.
Can you help with phones or tablets?
Yes, we may help with ordinary technology such as video calls, messages, email, calendars, reminders, finding information or using everyday applications. We do not ask for banking passwords, PINs or other sensitive financial security information.
Can support include going out?
Yes. Depending on the agreed plan, support can include walks, cafés, shops, parks, the library, community groups, a place of worship, hobbies, local events, visits to friends or family and other ordinary outings.
Do visits have to follow the same routine every time?
No. There is no standard day because there is no standard person. A visit should reflect what is useful and meaningful to that individual, within the agreed service and our current scope.
What if I am arranging support for a parent from far away?
You can contact us to talk through what is happening and what you are worried about. If our service is a suitable fit, agreed support and appropriate updates can help you feel connected when you cannot always be physically present.
Which areas do you cover?
We operate in Exeter and surrounding areas. Contact us with the postcode or area where support is needed and we will confirm current coverage and availability.
How much does support cost?
Please contact us for current fees. Pricing, minimum visit length, mileage or other charges should be explained clearly before support starts.
What happens first?
It starts with a conversation. Tell us what everyday life looks like, what is becoming difficult and what you would like to feel different. We can then talk through whether our support is suitable and what useful visits could look like.
Do you provide personal care or medication support?
Graceful Living Care and Support Ltd provides companionship and everyday practical support directly. Because we are a new provider working towards full CQC registration, we do not deliver hands-on care or medical monitoring through the limited company. However, our startup team members also operate independently as registered, self-employed Personal Assistants (PAs). If your loved one requires hands-on assistance, we can guide you on how to contract our team members directly as individual PAs during this transitional phase.
